Online Stage Plot Creator

This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices. Free books on astrology.

Description

Stage Plot Maker helps you build clear, readable stage plots to communicate your band's technical requirements to a sound engineer. You can build a collection of stage plots for different kinds of gigs, then print or email them directly from your mobile device.
A tablet is recommended for building stage plots. Once you build a stage plot, you can copy it to your phone for quick access on the go.
Stage plots can include a diagram to show the placement of elements on stage; numbered input and output lists; a list of other required items like chairs and music stands; the name and photo of each performer; notes for the sound engineer; and your contact info.
The app includes graphics for the following items:
- Inputs: vocal mic, instrument mic, area mic, clip mic, kick drum mic, DI box, XLR input
- Outputs: wedge monitor, spot monitor, fill monitor, in-ear monitor, headphone amp
- Instruments: amp, cymbal, drum, kick drum, keyboard, grand piano, pedal steel, xylophone
- Other: stairs, riser, stool, chair, music stand, horn stand, guitar stand, guitar rack, power outlet, mixer, laptop, isolation panel, fan
This app does not include graphics for small instruments that performers carry with them onto the stage, only large instruments like keyboards and drums that require prior placement on stage. The app design assumes that graphics for smaller instruments clutter stage plots and are relatively unimportant to the sound engineers and stage techs who will use them. Instead of a graphic for these instruments, stage plots can include a graphic for the input they use (a mic or DI box) with a custom label like 'trumpet mic' or 'DI for acoustic guitar.'
If you do not agree with this approach to stage plot design, or if you want to make stage plots that look different from the examples shown in the screen shots and demo video, you should select a different app.

What’s New

- Changed the bottom toolbar buttons from text to icons on the stage plot edit page.
- Enabled the save button immediately after adding a new stage plot.
- Deleted the local copy of the performer's photo when deleting a performer.

Highly annoying to use

Missing some very common sense items, difficult to edit or ad real world items that are needed. No mic stand symbols, amateur looking powers symbols, can’t edit input list, no drumkit symbol have to add individually.
Takes way too much time to do this! I’m a pro touring guy and would never want to present the results from this to experienced sound guys or stage managers!

Developer Response,

You can indicate mic stand types by editing the labels for the mics. You can edit the input list by editing the name and channel number for each input item on the stage plot. For drum kits, you can build your kit and then select all items to copy and paste to different stage plots. One of the sample stage plots has a basic kit you can start with.

Extremely helpful but limited

This definitely helps to present an idea but I would love to see more cymbals for smaller midi keyboards, string instruments, wind instruments, and the ability to change sizes of each cymbal for stage proportions.

Does the job, but room for easy improvements

Bought the app to make simple stage plots for my bands, and it does just that. With some minor additions, it could be much better.
Suggestions:
Free-form label creations
Symbols for smaller instruments
Adjustable stage size
Power box indicators
Graphic for band members
Drum kit graphic (instead of Indv drums)
Wouldn't recommend paying for it until these simple additions are made.

Developer Response,

Freeform labels: on my wish list. Symbols for smaller instruments: no plans to add; see app description. Adjustable stage size: currently the whole page is your stage, but you don't have to use the full area. Power box indicators: already included. Graphic for band members: already included. Graphic for entire drum kit: not included, but if you set up a drum kit in one stage plot, you can copy and paste it to other stage plots.

Easy, professional, beautiful stage plots.

A stage plot is literally a diagram of what your onstage setup looks like and the relative location of where everything on that stage should be.
Your stage plot should be as specific as possible, and StagePlot Guru is packed with features that make that possible. Does the drum set need to be stage right instead of behind the band? Does your keyboard player only set up facing a certain direction? Make sure your stage plot includes that. The locations of vocal mics, amplifiers, preferred monitor locations, and where you need outlets should all be clearly indicated and labeled.
The stage plot can also be a good place to have notes about some general monitor mixes, what certain members want in their mixes, or if they don't need certain elements in a mix at all. The notes feature allows smooth communication.
For all you drummers out there, letting your sound tech know how many pieces are in your kit is also great info to have ahead of time to plan accordingly and can save headaches the day of the show. It's also helpful to know if your amp has a direct out or if you need a DI box placed somewhere. Equipment and input lists easily take care of these.

Ok but def needs work

PDF is fuzzy when exported, I have latest OS and new version. Need a function to take your logo off of the plot, I'm sending this to professional venues not a bar, I paid for the app. Either need to make the Mic stands adjustable or have more variance in their positioning.
Also - It would be nice to have everything on one page, inputs etc. or at least the option. This is def the best application I've seen for stage plots, but that isn't saying much. If you guys fixed the bugs, gave us more instruments and layout choices I'd happily pay 20-40$ easy. StagePlot pro has a great set up with the numbered lists at the bottom, but for 50$ it's way too buggy and clunky and it doesn't have iPad compatibility. Hook us up you're on the right track.👍

Developer Response,

Something I would like to mention- in the coming days, we will be releasing Version 5.2. This version addresses your concerns about the issues you may have encountered. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us to receive Version 5.2 before it hits the market.
We hope, we can earn a greater updated rating from you soon, and we very much look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Matt- Just wanted to touch base with you again. Version 5.2 of StagePlot Guru is Live! Please feel free to update your app. We have addressed many of your concerns.
'PDF is fuzzy when exported'- We have fixed this in version 5.2. My Apologies.
About the Mic stands: every prop is adjustable via +/- buttons. Additionally there are many options for mic stands in the app, including short boom, long boom and short/long straight stand options. Please do let us know if there is something else you need.
'It would be nice to have everything on one page': We have now added an easy list builder feature to make it more convenient to enter lists. It's all located on the Stage Creation Page. We think you'll love this.
'If you guys fixed the bugs, gave us more instruments and layout choices..' So far on version 5.1, we have had a 99% crash free rating. We monitor this closely to make sure the app is working for every type of iPad. Please let us know specifically if you have experienced some kind of buggy behavior and we will gladly take a look. As far as instrument choices- we are adding more and more props all the time. Currently we have over 250 Industry standard props. Again, we have made this app for users like yourself, so let us know if there is something you need, we'd be happy to accommodate. :-)
I do hope we can earn an update to your rating! I think you will be pleased with version 5.2. :-)
Thanks Again Matt!!
Please don't hesitate to email us directly and let us know how we can improve.

Professional, complete, easy to use

I would give this app 6 stars because the support is the best and most professional of any I use. They understand that we can't wait around 4 days for an answer when a venue needs a plot NOW. That said, once you get running, StagePlot Guru is incredibly simple and complete. And the 'props' are actually fun to play with. 6 stars!
